Recalls: check by VIN

NHTSA files recalls for the BMW 5 Series Hybrid Sedan under individual trim or body names rather than "5 Series Hybrid Sedan", so we can't match them automatically. Enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls for the definitive list. The owner complaints below are matched correctly.

Complaints are unverified reports from owners. A pattern (many complaints about the same part) matters more than any single one.

05/14/2026 · Steering
After returning to my vehicle, I received an alert that the chassis stabilization system had a fault. The car was free, rolling and had no parking brake while it was on an incline. There was zero ability to turn the steering wheel. I consider this a life-threatening safety issue.

04/27/2026 · Wheels / tires
The driver’s side door jamb placard states 35PSI on all 4 tires. The TPMS software states 36 PSI front and 40 PSI rear. Picture of both attached. The manufacture label and TPMS should match, having them conflict is confusing and leaves owner unsure which to follow.
