1. Electrical system

What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. A software error in the driver video display control module may cause the instrument panel to go blank.

What could happen: A blank instrument panel will not show critical information, such as vehicle speed and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: GM will update the video display control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 15, 2022. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222379510.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2023 LYRIQ.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Cadillac dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 22V710000 (manufacturer code N222379510).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-458-8006.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

Backing out of driveway and screen went black and a collision occurred a second or two later. We have had the Lyriq in the shop multiple times for glitchy screens and screen going black but never has been fully resolved. I did recieve a recall letter (unfortunately I threw it away) but now it shows no recalls (strange). This black screen issue has been a…

The gauge cluster/infotainment screen dims automatically when the light sensor on the dash senses the environment has gotten darker. The problem is that this happens extremely early at dusk/dark hours when it's still fairly bright outside, and the brightness of the screen is too dim to see things clearly. Also, once this automatic dimming happens, there i…

During dusk and dawn conditions, the vehicle dims the dashboard lighting to the point that everything is very difficult to see. They are diming the displays when the exterior lighting conditions are still too bright for the very dim display. The Lyriq, as well as all current GM vehicles, use an icon on their instrument panel for indicating headlights are on that is incorrect.
