2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Suspension
What's wrong, in plain English: Parts can break and cause loss of control. The rear suspension toe link adjuster may not have been tightened properly, which could result in a loose toe link.
What could happen: A loose toe link can separate and cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Owners are advised to not drive their vehicle if they experience certain Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) warnings or other issues, such as unusual steering behavior, while driving. Please see the Part 573 report for the full list of warnings. Dealers will replace the adjustable toe link with a non-adjustable one, f…
What to do
- Do not drive this vehicle until the recall repair is done. The manufacturer has told owners to park it.
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2016 SRX.
- Book a repair at any authorized Cadillac dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 21V473000 (manufacturer code N212340980).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-333-4223.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
