1. Wheels / tires

What's wrong, in plain English: A wheel or tire can fail while driving. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.

What could happen: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-…

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2019 EXPRESS CARGO G2500.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Chevrolet dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 21V115000 (manufacturer code N212329050).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-888-988-7267.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
