2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Brakes
What's wrong, in plain English: Anything that slows the car down. Treat brake recalls as urgent. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit.
What could happen: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.
The fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2025. Owners may contact GM customer assistance number at 1-866-467-9700. GM's number for th…
What to do
- Park outside, away from houses, garages and other cars — there is a fire risk even when the vehicle is off.
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2020 SILVERADO 4500.
- Book a repair at any authorized Chevrolet dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V390000 (manufacturer code N242482680).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-866-467-9700.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
