1. Backup camera

What's wrong, in plain English: The rear camera may not show an image when reversing. The backup alarm connector may become loose and detach, preventing the alarm from sounding when the vehicle is backing up.

What could happen: A backup alarm that fails to alert pedestrians and other vehicles of a reversing vehicle, increases the risk of crash or injury.

The fix: Dealers will replace the exterior sound connector on the frame wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 17, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S12. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became…

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2026 E-450.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Ford dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 26V118000 (manufacturer code 26S12).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-866-436-7332.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
