1. Equipment

What's wrong, in plain English: A part or accessory supplied with the vehicle. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017 Stealth recreational vehicles, model CSFTFQ2817G-67 and Sandstorm recreational vehicles, model CSCT282GSLR-67. The liquid propane (LP) line under the vehicle may be damaged from contact with the axle, causing it to leak.

What could happen: A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire or explosion.

The fix: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles, free of charge. The recall began on March 31, 2017. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-909-873-3777. Forest River's number for this recall is 67-02082017-0321.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2017 SANDSTORM.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Forest River dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 17V117000 (manufacturer code 67-02082017-0321).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-909-873-3777.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
