1. Visibility (wipers / glass)

What's wrong, in plain English: You may not be able to see the road clearly. Liquid may leak into the driver's power window switch and cause corrosion, resulting in high electrical resistance.

What could happen: High electrical resistance can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side window switch, free of charge. The recall began August 10, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18155.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2015 SAVANA CARGO G33405.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized GMC dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 18V295000 (manufacturer code 18155).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-222-1020.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
