1. Brakes

What's wrong, in plain English: Anything that slows the car down. Treat brake recalls as urgent. The rear brake line may contact the Body Control Module (BCM), resulting in a hole in the brake line, a brake fluid leak, and loss of the rear brakes.

What could happen: Loss of the rear brakes increases the risk of a crash.

The fix: Harley-Davidson will replace the BCM caddy and associated hardware, free of charge. In addition, the rear brake line will be inspected and, if damaged, will be replaced along with associated parts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 1, 2026. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service a…

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 FLHC.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Harley-Davidson dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 26V234000.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-258-2464.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
