3 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Child seat
What's wrong, in plain English: A child restraint may not protect the child properly. The child seat tether welds on the second-row, right-side seat frame may be insufficient, which can reduce the seat's ability to properly restrain a child during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."
What could happen: A child that is not properly restrained during a crash can have an increased risk of injury.
The fix: Dealers will replace the second-row, right-side seat frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 29, 2026. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 27D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.…

- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2026 WRANGLER 2-DOOR ICE.
- Book a repair at any authorized Jeep dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 26V224000 (manufacturer code 27D).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.

- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Wheels / tires
What's wrong, in plain English: A wheel or tire can fail while driving. The walls for the steel wheels may be too thin, allowing them to crack or detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control.
What could happen: Loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the steel wheels and valve stems, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 4, 2026. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
What could happen: A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
