8 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Lights
What's wrong, in plain English: Headlights, tail lights or turn signals may not work, making the car hard to see. The Auto High Beam (AHB) system does not indicate through the instrument cluster when the high beams are illuminated automatically. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
What could happen: The driver may be unaware that the high beams are illuminated, reducing visibility for oncoming traffic, and increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall began April 7, 2021. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N556.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2020 RANGE ROVER SPORT.
- Book a repair at any authorized Land Rover dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 21V117000 (manufacturer code N556).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-637-6837.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Wheels / tires
What's wrong, in plain English: A wheel or tire can fail while driving. The tire inflation pressure label and the tire placard label state the incorrect tire pressures for the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
What could happen: Failure to inflate tires to the correct pressure could lead to loss of vehicle stability and control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will apply the correct labels, free of charge. The recall began October 30, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-369-1000. Land Rover's number for this recall is N491.

3. Electrical system
What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) recommended pressure has been set incorrectly in the instrument cluster. As a result, the TPMS warning light will not illuminate when tire pressure reaches 25% below the cold inflation pressure stated on the tire placard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
What could happen: Drivers may unknowingly operate the vehicle with low tire pressure, possibly causing tire tread separation, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge. The recall began November 2, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-369-1000. Land Rover's number for this recall is N494.
