What could happen: A vehicle fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

The fix: Owners are advised to only charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% battery capacity until the repair has been completed. Dealers will update the battery management system software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 22, 2025. This is a phased recall. Phase 1 owner letters were mailed on…

What to do

  1. Park outside, away from houses, garages and other cars — there is a fire risk even when the vehicle is off.
  2. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2022 EQB 350 4MATIC.
  3. Book a repair at any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V050000 (manufacturer code 2025040005).
  4. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  5. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-367-6372.
  6. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
