What's wrong, in plain English: You may not be able to see the road clearly. THE WIPER BLADE MAY EXTEND TOO FAR AND CATCH ON THE RADIO ANTENNA BRACKET. THE CONNECTION OF THE WIPER ARM AND THE PIVOT COULD BE DAMAGED. THE CONDITION IS CAUSED BY AN INCORRECT SETTING OF THE WIPER ARM HEIGHT ABOVE THE PIVOT.
What could happen:
The fix: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, THE WIPER ARM PIVOT WILL BE REPLACED AND THE WIPER STROKE ADJUSTED.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 1982 SENTRA.
- Book a repair at any authorized Nissan dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 83V112000.
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
