1. Electrical system

What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. Fluctuations in the 12-volt system may have damaged the High to Low Voltage Converter Module (HLCM).

What could happen: A damaged HLCM reduces the system's ability to convert energy, causing a sudden loss in drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will replace the High to Low Voltage Converter Module (HLCM), free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 17, 2025. Owners may contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504. Polestar's number for this recall is RP1043.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 POLESTAR 3.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Polestar dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 24V940000 (manufacturer code RP1043).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-806-2504.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
