High risk Campaign 23V443000 · announced 26/06/2023 (1 years ago)

1. Seat belts

What's wrong, in plain English: Seat belts may not hold you in a crash. The screw that attaches the lower seat belt anchor to the seat frame on the outboard rear seats may not have been tightened properly.

What could happen: An improperly tightened seat belt anchor can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix: Dealers will replace and tighten the lower rear outboard seat belt anchor screws, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 24, 2023. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is APA9.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2019 MACAN.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Porsche dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 23V443000 (manufacturer code APA9).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-767-7243.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

Right headlight assembly (low beam) stops working properly. Running light and high beam works fine but not the low beam. Installed a replacement bought on ebay which worked for a few months but the same issue eventually reappeared.

My 2019 Porsche Macan S driver side low beam lamp failed. As this vehicle is so advanced, it is failing to report headlamp failures. It is safety concern because during the nights it can create blind spots and opposite traffic failed to recognize it is 4 wheeler vehicle.

I want to report a series of premature material and component failures on my 2019 Porsche Macan (under the VIN given in this claim). In September 2025, our vehicle suffered a complete internal LED headlight blowout. When I explicitly asked my service advisor if this was a known manufacturer defect, I was told that this failure "occurs frequently" and that…

Passenger low beam led stopped functioning at 39k, with no warning light of it ceasing to function. Safety of passengers and driver were at risk. Went through diagnostics at dealership, diagnosed to need a complete headlight assembly replacement. Was told by Porsche dealership as well as independent shops that this is a “known problem” with these Macan hea…

Headlight on the passenger side. Very common for this year and model Porsche. We took the car to a carwash. We entered with both headlights working. We went straight home and as we pulled into the garage we saw that the passenger side headlight wasn't working. There was no indication on the dashboard or warning that the headlight was out. I had to drive…

I have an accident-free 2019 Macan S with 40k miles. Recently my passenger side headlight went out, so I took it to the auto repair shop I use (they specialize in German cars). The passenger side light assembly has been deemed faulty, and I am still driving without a headlight -- concerning for safety reasons as well as for possible ticketing. After readi…
