2024 Volvo V60 Recharge Polestar Engineered recalls & complaints
Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-19. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Backup camera — software update
What's wrong, in plain English: The rear camera may not show an image when reversing. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
What could happen: A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: The software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10320.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2024 V60 RECHARGE POLESTAR ENGINEERED.
- This recall may be fixed by an over-the-air software update. Check the car's screen or app before booking a dealer visit.
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-458-1552.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

OTA update is never available on stated timelines. Requires going to the dealership to get updates.
02/28/2025 · Brakes
When driving at about 10mph in my kids daycare driveway on a downward slope towards the main road, I depressed the brake pedal to stop and the car did not slow down. A few feet before intersecting the main road, I depressed the brake pedal fully to the floor and the car panic stopped. No braking action happened until the brake pedal was fully depressed to t…
09/12/2024 · Visibility (wipers / glass)
Windshield appears to be defective. The glass has cracked in over 6 places, including inside and outside laminations. Cracks have appeared that are not related to rock impacts. The car has only 14K miles on it and the windshield already needs to be replaced.

After two days of ownership and 148 miles, the car threw a check engine light w/ the following message: "SLOW DOWN. The vehicle will reduce speed. Propulsion system failure." followed by, "Propulsion system service required.". This consequently causes the car to go into 'limp mode' unexpectedly while driving, drastically reducing speed. We are then instru…

Since your headlights are up front and usually are the brightest spot, this results in your backup camera (and blind spot views) being completely black at night. This is a criti…
