1. Equipment

What's wrong, in plain English: A part or accessory supplied with the vehicle. Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Winnebago Forza motorhomes. The liquid propane (LP) lines may have been installed without edge protection where the LP lines pass through the closeout panel, possibly resulting in the lines being damaged and leaking fuel.

What could happen: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will install edge protection at the closeout panel, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 18, 2019. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2019 FORZA.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Winnebago dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 18V855000.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-641-585-6939.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
