2024 Acura MDX Type S recalls & complaints
Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-19. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
1 safety recall, most serious first
1. Fuel system
What's wrong, in plain English: Fuel lines, tank or pump. Fuel problems usually mean a leak, and leaks mean fire risk. A software error in the fuel injection electronic control unit (FI-ECU) may cause an engine stall or a loss of power.
What could happen: An engine stall or loss of power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
The fix: Dealers will reprogram the FI-ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 17, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are EL1 and AL0.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2024 MDX TYPE S.
- Book a repair at any authorized Acura dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V031000 (manufacturer code EL1 and AL0).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-888-234-2138.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

The transfer case on my 2024 Acura MDX Type S failed with under 30,000 miles. I believe there's a public investigation from the NHTSA, I wanted to ensure my case was reported.
