1. Visibility (wipers / glass)
What's wrong, in plain English: You may not be able to see the road clearly. When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
What could happen: A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix: The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N262567230. Vehicle Identific…
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2027 OPTIQ.
- Book a repair at any authorized Cadillac dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 26V612000 (manufacturer code N262567230).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-458-8006.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
