1. Steering

What's wrong, in plain English: If steering fails you can lose control of the car. The electric power steering (EPS) assist may fail.

What could happen: A loss of power steering assist can require greater steering effort, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will replace the power steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 15, 2025. Owners may contact Cadilac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N252497020.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2018 CORVETTE.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Chevrolet dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V175000 (manufacturer code N252497020).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-333-4223.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
