High risk Campaign 17V170000 · announced 13/03/2017 (8 years ago)

1. Fuel system

What's wrong, in plain English: Fuel lines, tank or pump. Fuel problems usually mean a leak, and leaks mean fire risk. The fuel control valve solenoid may short circuit, shutting off the flow of propane to the engine, causing the engine to shut off.

What could happen: An engine stall while driving increases the risk of a crash.

The fix: Roush has notified owners, and dealers will replace the fuel control valve solenoid, free of charge. The recall began on March 22, 2017. Owners may contact Roush customer service at 1-800-597-6874. Roush's number for this recall is VR.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2016 F-650 ROUSH PROPANE.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Ford dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 17V170000 (manufacturer code VR).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-597-6874.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
