1. Transmission / drivetrain

What's wrong, in plain English: The parts that send engine power to the wheels. Failure can mean a sudden loss of power or the car rolling away. Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Forest River Flagstaff and Rockwood recreational trailers. The brake mounting flanges on the torsion axles may be incorrectly oriented, which can result in premature brake failure.

What could happen: Premature brake failure can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix: Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will replace the axles or hubs, free of charge. The recall began on October 12, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-2640 or Dexter customer service at 1-574-295-7888.

  2. Book a repair at any authorized Forest River dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 18V678000.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-574-642-2640.
