1. Electrical system

What's wrong, in plain English: Wiring, modules, batteries. Short circuits can cause stalls or fires. The instrument cluster assembly may have been manufactured with excessive adhesive, which can disable the instrument cluster display screen.

What could happen: A disabled display screen will not show critical information, such as the meters, gauges, and warning lights, which can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will replace the instrument cluster assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2022. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 230.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2022 PALISADE.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Hyundai dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 22V353000 (manufacturer code 230).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-855-371-9460.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
