1. Transmission / drivetrain

What's wrong, in plain English: The parts that send engine power to the wheels. Failure can mean a sudden loss of power or the car rolling away. An insufficient seal on the controller for the electric oil pump may allow moisture to accumulate in the printed circuit board, which can cause an electrical short and result in a fire.

What could happen: A fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

The fix: Owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Dealers will replace the electric oil pump controller, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 11, 2025. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numb…

What to do

  1. Park outside, away from houses, garages and other cars — there is a fire risk even when the vehicle is off.
  2. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 PALISADE.
  3. Book a repair at any authorized Hyundai dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V291000 (manufacturer code 278).
  4. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  5. Manufacturer hotline: 1-855-371-9460.
  6. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Seat belts

What's wrong, in plain English: Seat belts may not hold you in a crash. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.

What could happen: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of t…

3. Airbags

After slowing to make a right or left turn, pressing on the accelarrator causes no response for ten to fifteen seconds. This proble seems to be in numerous Palisades for 2023 to 2026. Numerous message boards have reports of this issue with the dealer not being able to repair the problem. I myself almost gor into an accident due to this issue.
