2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Lane Departure
What's wrong, in plain English: A vehicle part that may fail. A malfunction in the forward sensing camera (FSC) may prevent the automatic emergency braking system and the lane-keep assist system from functioning. In addition, the headlights will not automatically adjust from high beams to low beams as intended.
What could happen: Automatic braking, steering assist, and headlight control systems that do not function as intended can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the forward sensing camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 24, 2024. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 6. Mazda's number for this recall is 6824H.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2024 CX-30.
- Book a repair at any authorized Mazda dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 24V649000 (manufacturer code 6824H).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-222-5500.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Airbags
What's wrong, in plain English: The airbag system — the part that is supposed to protect you in a crash. The Sophisticated Air Bag Sensor (SAS) units may set an error code and deactivate the air bags, due to a low battery condition.
What could happen: Air bags that do not deploy in the event of a crash increase the risk of injury.
The fix: Dealers will reprogram the SAS unit with improved software or replace the unit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 24, 2025. Mazda's number for this recall is 7525E.

09/09/2026 · Transmission / drivetrain
The vehicle is experiencing premature transmission failure, since about 9,000 miles. Mazda has been dropping the ball at replacing it under warranty and we found out there are 3 other CX-30s that I know of with similar issues. I believe Mazda has a faulty transmission in these cars based off my findings and other complaints.

What is happening with my car are the exact symptoms of the known Mazda Recall 6824H - where the Smart Brake Support suddenly engages for no reason and when it does not need to - which has almost caused me to be rear-ended a few times. This has happened at least 7-8 times since I have owned the vehicle. Apparently, my VIN does not fall under the cars that M…

Reporting Product Defect in Mazda Vehicles I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring design flaw affecting current Mazda vehicles, including models such as CX30, MX30, and potentially the Mazda3 series. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The automatic braking turned on while I was accelerating. My car is available for inspection. [XXX] fuel door assembly has come loose from body. It looks like the clips that hold it in place have become worn or loose by the weight of the gas nozzle or by the fact that the gas door will not close correctly and car wash machine has made it looser and it appears to not shut all the way, and the body colored panel has fallen off as a result and when y…

The vehicle intermittently fails to start when pressing the push-button start system. The start/stop button becomes unresponsive despite normal conditions (key present, brake engaged, no warning indicators preventing ignition). This has now occurred twice within two years of ownership, indicating a recurring issue rather than an isolated incident. On the…

I was driving down the Highway and the sun roof just exploded send shards of glass everywhere and nothing had hit it or anything. It just exploded. When I got to the dealer the person ahead of me had the exact same thing and we compared pictures. It was scary, dangerous and really loud when it happened.
