2015 Mercedes-Benz Metris recalls & complaints
Source: NHTSA, updated daily. Last checked 2026-10-19. Recalls apply to specific VINs — run your VIN to confirm.
3 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Transmission / drivetrain
What's wrong, in plain English: The parts that send engine power to the wheels. Failure can mean a sudden loss of power or the car rolling away. The transmission support may not have been properly tightened to the vehicle body, potentially resulting in damage to the driveshaft.
What could happen: Damage to the driveshaft could cause a loss of power to the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the transmission support mounting bolts, replacing and tightening them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 11, 2018. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2015 METRIS.
- Book a repair at any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 18V335000.
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-877-762-8267.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Steering
What's wrong, in plain English: If steering fails you can lose control of the car. These vehicles have electrical power steering control units with improperly welded contact pins.
What could happen: The improperly welded pins may lose contact, deactivating the power steering assist and increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the electric power steering rack, free of charge. An interim notice is expected to be mailed on November 17, 2017. A second notice will be mailed to owners when parts become available. Owners may contact Daimler's customer service at 1-877-762-8267.
