1. Transmission / drivetrain

What's wrong, in plain English: The parts that send engine power to the wheels. Failure can mean a sudden loss of power or the car rolling away. A software error could cause the center screen (including rearview camera image) and the touch control panel remain to black directly after the ignition is activated. Also, the Real-Top-View (including rearview camera image) could display a flickering image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

What could happen: A malfunctioning center screen or touch control panel may obstruct the driver's view of camera assisted driving functions, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will install new software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 5, 2022. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ANA6.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2022 TAYCAN.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Porsche dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 22V404000 (manufacturer code ANA6).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-767-7243.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the driver assistance software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2026. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ASB2. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 19, 2026.

Porsche dealers are not fixing this recall. They offer service appointments 6 months in advance, and then cancel at the last minute. I've been trying to get this recall done for 18 months, with no success.

04/22/2026 · Unknown Or Other
The mapping system is out of date and tried to route me to an offramp that doesn't exist. I did some research and found the offramp changed over 4 years ago, roughly when the car was built. I took the car to my local dealership to get the maps updated and Porsche claims I have the latest map. I think this is a dangerous situation if someone tried to drift…

While driving in traffic on a busy highway, I heard a loud clunk from the rear of the car and it instantly decelerated from 70+ miles per hour to 22 miles per hour, where it stayed and would not go faster. I had to get across 3 lanes of traffic to exit. Thereafter, the car would not move and had to be put on a flatbed to get to the Porsche dealer. Note t…

This incident is related to the ARB7/24V-732 recall, first communicated to me in November, 2024 and again in July, 2025. The July, 2025 letter states that software would be installed in the vehicle to test the health of my vehicle's battery, at a Porsche Center. I believe that this was actually performed over-the-air at my home. It's my guess that because…

02/10/2026 · Electrical system
I am reporting a safety defect involving (1) sudden loss of propulsion (“turtle mode”/limp mode) while accelerating/merging into traffic and (2) unintended steering movement while driver-assist/lane centering was active (vehicle jerked toward adjacent lane and off roadway). These events create an immediate crash risk. The vehicle has also had repeated charg…

Within a few days of a rain event, I start getting errors involving the lane keep assist, automatic, emergency, breaking, forward collision, warning system, lane departure assist, headlight control unit. God has been taken to the dealership three times in the last six months for this problem and it keeps coming back. This is a safety issue and I don’t feel…

On 9/18/2025, while driving at approximately 45 mph on a busy road called Hualapai in Las Vegas, Nevada, my Porsche Taycan suddenly displayed “Electrical system error – Park vehicle in a safe place”. The car immediately slammed to a stop in live traffic. I heard a loud thump from the front end as this occurred. I was nearly hit by six cars swerving to avoid…
