2 safety recalls, most serious first
1. Visibility (wipers / glass)
What's wrong, in plain English: You may not be able to see the road clearly. During certain HVAC system faults, such as electrical compressor failure, the defroster and defogger system may become inoperative.
What could happen: An inoperative defroster and defogger system can decrease the driver's visibility under certain driving conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will update the HVAC control ECU software, free of charge. Dealers will also inspect the electrical compressor, and replace it, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 17, 2025. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall…
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 SOLTERRA.
- Book a repair at any authorized Subaru dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V577000 (manufacturer code 25TB07 and 25TA07).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-331-4331.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

What's wrong, in plain English: The rear camera may not show an image when reversing. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. When going over Speed bumps, or experiencing a change in approach angle, primarily at speeds between 15 and 25 MPH, the Solterra's Left Front Suspension makes a click. it's not a knock or a thunk, it's a click. I went to the dealer, let them know the situation. They were unable to recreate the noise. Paperwork included.
