1 safety recall, most serious first
1. Forward Collision Avoidance
What's wrong, in plain English: A vehicle part that may fail. The radar sensor may not have been activated during production, making the pre-collision system (PCS) inoperative.
What could happen: An inoperative PCS that does not provide a malfunction indicator to the driver, or braking assist as expected, can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will inspect and activate the radar sensor as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 22, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 22TA02.
What to do
- Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2021 C-HR.
- Book a repair at any authorized Toyota dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 22V107000 (manufacturer code 22TA02).
- The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
- Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-331-4331.
- Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
