1. Backup camera — software update

What's wrong, in plain English: The rear camera may not show an image when reversing. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

What could happen: A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: The software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10320.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 XC60 B5.
  2. This recall may be fixed by an over-the-air software update. Check the car's screen or app before booking a dealer visit.
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-458-1552.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2025 Volvo XC60 Plus B5, 23,317 miles. The driver's-side exterior mirror changes position without driver command, creating a safety risk due to an incorrect rearward/adjacent-lane view. I purchased a 2025 Volvo XC60 new. It has 18,000 miles on the car. The tires were on the vehicle when purchased. The tires are Pirelli 255/40 RZ1 102 V Mts. DOT IXB RM 582P 1424. The front driver side tire has huge chucks of rubber missing on the tread. This issue is getting worse over time. I purchase a new tire and was told that Pirelli "may reimburse" me…

08/31/2026 · Visibility (wipers / glass)
It appears, that due to a production defect, the right and left rear driver and passenger side windows are permanently fogged up making it difficult to see when driving. I have seen other reports that make the same observation, , but there apparently is no safety or production recalls by Volvo. This is definitely a production and a safety issue!
