1. Seat belts

What's wrong, in plain English: Seat belts may not hold you in a crash. The driver and front passenger seat belt buckles may be missing a rivet that secures the buckle to the seat belt stalk.

What could happen: A seat belt that is missing a rivet may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix: Dealers will replace both front seat belt buckles, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 3, 2025. Owners may contact Audi at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 692K. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on November 14, 2025.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2025 Q8.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Audi dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V777000 (manufacturer code 692K).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-800-253-2834.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
