1 safety recall, most serious first

1. Brakes

What's wrong, in plain English: Anything that slows the car down. Treat brake recalls as urgent. The brakes may take longer than expected to activate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

What could happen: Delayed brake activation can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will install a new pneumatic circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2502.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2023 VNL (4).
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Volvo dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 25V102000 (manufacturer code RVXX2502).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

02/15/2026 · Airbags · crash
The truck was involved in a head on collision at 64mph and the drivers air bag did not deploy. Although the accident was caused by another driver going the wrong way on the highway I am concerned with the fact that the air bag did not deploy
