1. Equipment

What's wrong, in plain English: A part or accessory supplied with the vehicle. The LP fuel line is routed near the rear wheel well, which may allow the fuel line to contact the tire and become damaged, resulting in a gas leak.

What could happen: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

The fix: Dealers will secure the LP line with secondary cable ties, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 30, 2022. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 170.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2021 NAVION.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Winnebago dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 22V795000 (manufacturer code 170).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-641-585-6939.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

In December 2021, we experienced a failure of the RV Mercedes Sprinter to start. After calling a mobile technician out, and upon research of similar events, it was determined that the Electronic Ignition System had failed. We had the RV towed to Mercedes Service Center in Asheville, NC where the problem was confirmed. It appears that internal windshield…

Awning completely separated from body of RV and large parts, including metal outer shell of awning, flew off vehicle and into lanes of traffic. All that was left of the awning was the brace arms that remained connected to vehicle (as shown in pictures attached), but were…

We only used the automatic electric awning a handful of times, On September 2nd after retracting the awning, it violently opened on it own. Despite trying to extend or retract the motor would just click and click. Since it was 10PM at night, we left it extended overnight. We then spent several hours trying to contact Carefree Awning or an RV repair. Ultimat…

Our automatic electric awning has always had random electrical issues but two days ago, when retracting the awning, it didn't close completely and started jerking back and forth in between being almost closed and opening up 12-18". I resolved the problem by disconnecting power to the awning and then restarting it. Even though it appears to have closed pro…

On mine, the hose goes over the rear driver's tire wheel well and crossed behind the tire to the manifold. Upon arriving home and smelling pr…
