1. Equipment

What's wrong, in plain English: A part or accessory supplied with the vehicle. Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2021 Revel, Vista, Sunstar, and Adventurer Motorhomes. The power bed motor may experience an internal gear failure, causing the bed to extend prior to the safety strap engaging.

What could happen: A bed that falls unexpectedly increases the risk of injury or death.

The fix: Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power bed motor, free of charge. The recall began December 16, 2020. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885. Winnebago's number for this recall is 164.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2021 ADVENTURER.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Winnebago dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 20V703000 (manufacturer code 164).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-641-585-6939.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.
