1. Suspension

What's wrong, in plain English: Parts can break and cause loss of control. The right front lower control arm may contain a manufacturing defect that can cause it to fracture.

What could happen: A right front lower control arm fracture can cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace the right front lower control arm as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 3, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PIY.

What to do

  1. Check whether your car is affected: enter your 17-digit VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. A recall covers specific VINs, not every 2024 PROLOGUE EV.
  2. Book a repair at any authorized Honda dealer. Quote NHTSA campaign 24V540000 (manufacturer code PIY).
  3. The repair is free. By US law, safety recall repairs cost the owner nothing, no matter the car's age or mileage.
  4. Manufacturer hotline: 1-888-234-2138.
  5. Buying this car used? Ask the seller for proof the recall was completed, or run the VIN yourself before paying.

2. Backup camera

What's wrong, in plain English: The rear camera may not show an image when reversing. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. Additionally, a software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, "Control and Displays," 111, "Rear Visibility," and 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles."

What could happen: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, the loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix: Dealers will update the vehicle radio control module software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 22, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138.
